I (Justine Herbert) obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. I am a licensed counselor intern #COUI – 8424 in the state of Idaho, I continued on to St. Martin’s University to be certified as a Washington state certified school counselor. I spent 4 years in Elementary and Middle schools.
I enjoy working with youth and their families to find common ground and a healing path. In the schools, I have worked with youth who have experienced Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, suicidal ideations, drug and alcohol issues, personality disorders, grief and loss. I appreciate being in the schools to access the whole child and their surroundings as well as being a bridge home.
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Play and Solution Focused Therapy. I tend to draw from Positive Psychology and Mindfulness practices. I believe in the use of therapy to empower individuals to find mental and emotional well-being. I believe we never stop learning so I am always eager to learn new and creative ways to help my clients and their surrounding people.
