About Me
I (Jean Lovelace) obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Adams State University (1990) in Alamosa, Colorado. I am a licensed counselor intern #COUI – 8557 in the state of Idaho. I am a certified School Counselor and School Principal in Idaho, and I have a certificate from the International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP), (2021) and am a trainer for them. I spent 30 years in schools at the elementary and secondary levels in both Colorado and Idaho.
I enjoy working with youth and their families to find common ground and a healing path. In the schools, I have worked with youth who have experienced trauma, ADHD, behavior problems, learning difficulties, depression, anxiety, and grief and loss. I like being in the schools so I can work with school staff to support the child in the classroom as well as working with parents to create a happy future for their family. I have experience using positive behavior supports, art and play therapy, and restorative practices. My approach is strengths-based and I think we can all learn skills that help us function and thrive. I look forward to getting to know you and your child and seeing your family grow. |
